VATSALYA INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL, BORSAD
Red Day Celebration,2019-20

The purest and the most thoughtful minds are those which love colour the most.

19-07 2019

To fill the tender minds of the students with the vibrant colours of life the Pre Primary section of VATSALYA International School celebrated Red Day on 28th June 2019. We celebrate the basic colour days as a part of the curriculum which contributes a lot in making their concept of basic colours clear. The tiny tots painted the town red by dressing up brilliantly, all in red. They display great interest in coloring the pictures of red fruits and vegetables. It developed their identification as well as understanding of the nutritional value of different fruits and vegetables. It helped us to inculcate the habit of eating fruits and vegetables in them. Furthermore Choral Speaking Competition was also organized where the tiny ones exhibited their oratorical skills. They roved everyone’s mind by the flawless presentations in which groups of students spoke in chorus about the importance of fruits and vegetables and ended speaking about the charm of red colour.
The passages of the building and the display boards were beautifully decorated with the stencils of red fruits and vegetables coloured by the students. Along with our revered Principal Sir, the Dean of Academics had graced the occasion with their presence and encouraged the students with their words of wisdom. The competition was judged by the Pre Primary teachers. All the participants displayed great talent and tried their best to win positions.

NATIONAL DOCTOR'S DAY

11-07 2019

1st July is observed as ‘National Doctors Day’ but Vatsalya believes that it is ‘live long life day’. It was celebrated with great fervor on 1st July to pay homage to Dr. Bidhan Chandra Roy who sacrificed his life in saving and improving the health of the common public. Life is like a brittle glass which breaks due to traumatic situations. Handling the brittle glass during the traumatic situation saves the life and God gave us those handling hands in the form of doctors. It offered the students a great opportunity to express their gratitude for the benevolent gestures of all the doctors towards our country. The students of class V recited a beautiful poem titled ‘The Doctor’ by Rose Fyleman in the morning assembly. Moreover a video was also played based on how doctors lay down their personal lives for the sake of others. At last, the students of class 5 made an illustrious presentation further glorifying the lives of the doctors. This celebration helped the students and teachers to acknowledge the services of doctors and their huge contribution to the medical advancement in our country.

Inter House Debate Competition

22-04 2019

“You can sway a thousand men by appealing to their prejudices quicker than you can convince one man by logic.”
Debate is one of the academic activities that give students creative room to express what they feel. The length and breadth of knowledge that they gain through this is simply unparallel.
Vatsalya International School has set the benchmark for conducting activities in such a way that the students not only enjoy but also learn a great deal from it. With the same perspective in view, the Inter-House Debate Competition was held for the classes XI&XII on 20th April 2019 in the school premises.
The topic chosen was ‘Artificial Intelligence is detrimental to Human Progress’. The four different houses- Mars, Jupiter, Neptune and Venus prepared their teams of two speakers each, one argued for the motion and the other against the motion. The teams were well prepared and they used various skills like overstatement, anecdotes, definition, rhetoric, irony etc. to convince the audience. The participants, armed with statistics and data validated and made their arguments more emphatic with right facial expressions, body movements and gestures. After every round of Affirmative and Negative speakers Rebuttal round was conducted.
All the participants exhibited great oratorical skills. They put in tremendous hard work to showcase their hidden talent. The debaters displayed confidence in presenting their arguments before audience and a panel of eminent jury members.
At the end of the heated but interesting debate which lasted over two hours, finally Neptune House was declared the winner.
The Principal appreciated and applauded the performances of the participants and motivated the students to avail such opportunities to cultivate and refine their oratorical skills. It was a great learning experience for the students as well. The day finally concluded on a joyous note.
