It didn’t take long for the marathoners to drop away from the pack as soon as the whistle blew at the starting point on 1st December 2019 at Borsad. With the message ‘To Race Against Aids’ a long line of students, parents and teachers together stretched away in swift jog. This Marathon is scheduled every year to encourage mass participation and to instill values of promoting good health amongst students, teachers and community through mentioned programme. Dipped in morning freshness, all these members of the Vatsalya family carried forward an important message to the society against the fatal disease of AIDS. Volunteers were posted at every nook of the designated pathway to check on the interiority of the runners. It was started exactly at 6:30 am. Participants were briefed all formalities required to be fulfilled like getting tickets and seal properly, not to follow short cut routes and to be mindful of their safety measures. Water and juice facility was also made available at different points of the leg whereas all other provisions were taken care in case of casualty. The run continued for an hour where the participants displayed robust energy. The school received a strong support from the local police who helped in smooth conduction of the programme. A heartfelt thanks to all the stakeholders who collaborated and co-operated with us.

Wherever you go, no matter what the weather is, you can always bring your own sunshine. This is what the students of class 2 and 3 experienced on a two days one night tour to the marvellous Jambugoda Wildlife Sanctuary. Students along with Mrs. Nishat Ahmed, Mrs. Marshila Parmar, Mrs. Rupa Verma, Mrs. Dipalee Bhoge, Mrs. Mansi Buke, Ms. Vandana Tiwari and Mr. Prasad left on the 18th of November from Borsad. On the way kids enjoyed delicious breakfast and enjoyed the journey singing and dancing on tunes of their favourite music. We reached the destination by afternoon. Post lunch we took some rest and headed towards Kada dam reservoir which was an hour’s walk from our dormitories. Kids enjoyed the walk through the forest and learnt about various trees and their uses. Later at night the organisers had arranged for camp fire where kids entertained themselves by dancing and singing. “The best view comes after the hardest climb.” Next morning kids were excited about bird watching and some new adventures. We went for trek where kids saw types of birds, spiders, ants, lizards, mushrooms and some medicinal plants. Kids learnt a song on nature and played some team games. We visited a small museum and enjoyed sky walk. We left from the Jambugoda Wildlife Sanctuary by afternoon. It was a mesmerising experience for all of us. “To walk with nature is to witness thousand miracles.”

Nowadays, impeccable pronunciation marks the academic standards and personality of an individual. Gone are the days when we could flaunt our knowledge with a wee bit of proficiency over a particular language. To cater to the ever increasing demand of English Language globally, Vatsalya strives to push itself every inch in providing a natural English atmosphere in school where students can acquire the language quite naturally and become confident and fluent communicators. In addition to all other activities organized by the English department, this year we registered around 209 students ranging from Pre-Primary to Class XII for MaRRS International Spelling Bee Competition conducted by MaRRS Intellectual Services Ltd. It not only encourages the students to learn spellings but catapults a very systematic understanding of the language as well. The Inter School Round was conducted in the school itself wherein the students’ loud and positive response shot them up to the next level to be conducted in the month of March 2020. Vatsalya fraternity congratulates them and wishes them good luck for the upcoming challenges.

Literally, all the children of Vatsalya International School had a blast on Children’s Day. Felt like blessed beyond measures to have teachers like these. The fun-filled Bum Bum Bole which filled the atmosphere with laughter and happness, followed by mimicry of students by Urmil Sir which was full of sarcasm, locking and poping just lit the dance floor. We found our voices at a crescendo when we were taken by surprise with Prasad Sir’s dance and enactment by teachers. How incredible everything seemed to be! East or West Vatsalya teachers are the best. Grateful forever and ever for having gurus who not only can act firmly on our flaws but can act like friends and make us feel special when needed. We all are left with gallons of memories to cherish for a lifetime……
