Vatsalya International School celebrated its 10th Annual Day "Saptarang Mahotsav" on 31 January 2015. We could enjoy the fruit of success when the surrounding circumstances favored us in all respects. The preparation before the cultural programme was very good. The committee members of Annual Day, program in-charge Mr. Chirag Prajapati, all in-charge teachers and students took initiative to prepare for the big show well in advance under the support and guidance of Chairman Swami Balswarupdasji, Managing trustee Swami Nirlepswarupdasji, Principal Mr. B. J. Sekar and Vice Principal Mr. Vijay Aher. This year we were fortunate to have as the Chief Guest, Shree Rakesh Shankar (IAS), Collector, Anand District and Guest of Honour, Shree Lalsinh Vadodiya, Shree Sadanand Yadav, and other eminent dignitaries that included Shree Sureshbhai Kotadiya, Shree Bimal Bhatt, parents and special invitees. We began our programme with the welcoming the guests, lighting the lamp and prayer followed by speeches of chief guest and our managing trustee Swami Nirlepswarupdasji followed by School Annual Report. Awards and mementos were presented to the best of the best students. "Saptarang Mahotsav" started with welcoming everyone by Swagatam song. Pre-primary students performed very well on the stage and all the dances were outstanding. The saptarang theme song "Rang lo" added seven colours to the program. Primary students added sparkles and charm to the programme by their performance. All the skits were outstanding with proper recording. The swaminarayan dances added special colour to the event. Rajasthani dance, Mahisasur Mardini, Hanuman chalisa, Punjabi dance were the main attractions of the programme. Students of class XII rocked the stage by their disco diwane performance. We had a specious stage with wonderful lighting arrangement and LED background and proper sound system. The costumes selected for each items were attractive and colorful. The participants worked hard and performed well beyond our expectations. In any program anchors play an important role in representing each item. Here also anchoring was outstanding. This year we introduced the pass system for everyone. It was successful and well appreciated. We got the success because of best performance by our students. The Vatsalya family is proud on them.

Vatsalya International School, Borsad had organized "The International Food Fiesta" an ISA (International School Award) activity on 24th January 2015 well organized by the incharge teachers Mr. MANOJ, Mr. PRATIK and Mrs. SELVA. In connection to this activity, “Nutritive Value of the Fast Foods of the countries like India, U.K, Italy, Thailand, Mexico and China was presented to a group of students of our school by the subject expert Ms. DHWANI UPADHYAY. The students were thoroughly explained about the nutritive value of different food items. Finally it was concluded that fast foods have less concentration of nutrients while on the other hand the amount of nutrients (carbohydrates, proteins, fats, vitamins and minerals) is very high in direct natural products.
As an active member of British Council affiliated group of schools, Vatsalya contributed to the International Solidarity Day, 21st December, 2014, by organising an event in which four member countries were honoured by singing of their national anthems by the patriotic students of the school. The students of the four houses, Jupiter, Venus, Neptune and Mars sang the national anthems of United Kingdom, Canada, Australia and India with nationalistic zeal. They made a presentation on the allotted country and handed over an album on the importance and history of the anthem to the Principal and vice principal of the school. The students prepared flags of the countries and took out a flag march around the school. They were aptly guided by various in-charge teachers and their enthusiasm is worth applauding.
