Wild life Week
The Science Dept. organised the Wild Life Week in order to sensitize the students about the apathy of humanity towards conservation of our rich flora and fauna heritage. It is almost every day that we hear a member of the giant cat family dying due to electrocution, overrun by trains or facing the brunt of the villagers who have encroached upon the rightful land of such animals. Many become a prey to poachers again due to negligence of the forest officials. The cumulative effect of this is that various species have become endangered and many are wiped off the face of earth. The rate of extinction is alarming and it is interfering with the entire ecological balance that we as human beings, superior animals, do not understand will be our nemesis. These concerns were aptly highlighted by the teachers and students in the assembly and through charts. Our pre-primary children paid a visit to the zoo at Vadodara and through banners they tried to convey the same message to the visitors of the zoo too. - Photos
