A three-day regional level science exhibition on the theme Science, Technology and Mathematics for Nation Building was organized in Navrachna School, Sama Vadodara from 15th -17th December 2016. We presented our exhibits on two subthemes. Our first exhibit “Ecofriendly Burial Site” under the subtheme, ‘Innovation in Food Production and Security’ and second exhibit “Optimization Technology” under the sub theme “Mathematical Solution In Everyday Life”. Experts assessed our exhibits for two days. Last day the exhibition was open for school visit. Many students had come to view the projects, which in turn proved to be a great learning experience for them. In the valedictory function the eminent judges gave their judgment after inspecting each project. The best 18 exhibits were selected and now they would be competing at New Delhi in January for the National level. Vatsalya’s exhibit on Eco friendly Burial Site has been selected for the National Level. Congratulations to the team!

Report on social awareness program conducted on 1st December 2016 – World AIDS Day, VENUE – PETLAD (TIMING- 9:30 AM- 1:00 PM) A social awareness program was conducted by the students of class 11 under the able guidance of Ms Roma Sharma, the science department, Mr. Jayesh & Mr. Ramesh. Mr. Dipesh too accompanied the students. The main objective of the program was to enlighten the mass in the rural-dominated areas about AIDS. The topics covered by the student were the causes & prevention of AIDS. The activities conducted under this program included a street play, a song, an eye-catching rally & colourful display of posters. Our 1st destination was “S.S. Hospital (Petlad)”. Here the students put up a 25 min play in the auditorium of the hospital campus. The show was appealing to the audience who were primarily patients, nurses & practising physicians of the hospital. At the end of the performance, the chief doctor addressed the crowd on the day’s importance. After that we headed to a roundabout near N K Patel School by bus. We were accompanied by the students of N K Patel School for a rally in the marketplace. Then our students staged their play near the school entrance and briefed the students on AIDS. The students enjoyed the play and their principal too appreciated our school students. We received a lot of hospitality from the school principal. The final march was from the school campus to a Swaminarayan temple in the marketplace. The rally was tiring yet enthusiastic. The colorful spectacle of posters and placards appealed a huge audience. The students gave their last power packed performance at the gate of the temple. Subsequently, we returned to the school campus by bus. The audiences were swayed away by the students’ performance wherever they went. The most dynamic and responsive onlookers were the people at the hospital. On the whole, the program was a great success. The delightful and informative program was organised by Ms. Roma Sharma, Mr. Prakash Tiwari, Mr. Ramesh & Mr. Jayesh. A fund collection auction was organised by the students of class 11-C on 26th November 2016.The posters and placards were prepared by the students of 11-A under the guidance of Mr. Shray Gautam. The script was prepared by Mr. Ramesh & Mr. Jayesh. Finally, this entire organisation would not be successful without the support of the school management.

Three loud rounds of cheers to the winners who brought laurels to the Vatsalyan family by participating and winning various Inter School Competitions organized by Anandalaya, Anand on the eve of birth anniversary of Dr. Varghese Kurien on 21st November 2016. Its indeed a proud moment to share and applaud the achievements of our students, Aditya Aher (XII) and Shraddha Pandey (XII), who clinched first and second positions in Art/Drawing competition and Hindi Debate competition respectively. “Winning isn’t everything….. desire to win is.” Hearty Congratulations to the winners……….

Bid Bid and Bid for Good……. ‘Charity begins at home…..’ Upholding this motto, the students of class XI C organized an ‘Auction Programme’ on 26th November 2016 of various homemade articles made by the students and contributed their bit for a larger cause like AIDS. All the students of the school participated in this programme massively by making beautiful articles and decorative items out of waste materials and putting them for auction. We extend a heartfelt thanks to the parents for their overwhelming support by authorizing their children for active involvement in the biddings. The programme encouraged, motivated and helped the children to experience the pleasure of giving. A significant portion of the fund raised would be given in support to the AIDS affected people. The programme culminated with spirited bidding in the live auction.
